Al-Shabab Forces Attacked Police Station in Baidoa Town

Muuqaalka Magalada BaydhaboBaidoa,(insidesomalia.org)- The Al- Shabab group which operates in Somalia attacked a police station in Baidoa the headquarters of Bay region southern Somalia which is roughly 245KM from the Somalia capital Mogadishu in the mid hours of overnight.

 

The actual casualties in the attack is not yet manifest, but the exchange of fire between the two sides could awake the residents of Baidoa town who were at that time midway sleep.

 

The Al-Shabab groups had the upper hand in that attack and seized the police station for some time and withdraw without facing reprisal from the policemen whom they have chased way from the police station.

 

The chased policemen could be seen searching the houses in the area of Murasal where the police station was situated at.

 

On the hand the Somali government police who are at Baidoa town have not commented about the battle of overnight and extra police outnumbering the pervious policemen were this morning deployed at the attacked police station.
